Civil Engineering Permanent Works Design

At RJP we have substantial knowledge of the Technical Approval process, particularly in Rail, and the necessary forms that are required to achieve approval of the design. We specialise in the earlier design stages; Feasibility through to Option Selection and Single Option Design (AiP), but also have knowledge of the Detailed Design and Approved for Construction design stages.
We can undertake studies into the viability of small scale projects by reviewing and comparing the available options against a set of criteria; such as site constraints, cost and constructability issues. This could be to determine a new site for a development, or to consider various construction forms, layouts or details. The study would then suggest a recommended solution to be developed in more detail at the Single Option design stage, where the principles and outline details will be established.
We have the expertise to undertake Civil Engineering designs for the following types of structures and schemes:
⚀ Retaining walls
⚀ Station platforms or platform modifications
⚀ Ancillary lineside infrastructure associated with permanent way, signalling, overhead and telecoms works, such as retaining walls, location cases, undertrack Crossings, REB bases, cess walkways, Overhead Line and signal foundations and superstructures, lineside access and fencing.
⚀ Access structures such as footbridges, ramps, lifts and stairs
⚀ Surface water drainage systems
⚀ Routewide studies such as re-signalling and electrification schemes
⚀ Light rail schemes
⚀ Analysis of superstructures, such as Overhead Line structures
If you would like to discuss how we might be able to help, we would be delighted to hear from you.
